The Pope always meets with different international groups and the Legion of Mary is also an internationally recognized group. We should step out of our organization and reach out to serve the poor. For all the years, the Church had gone through a lot of sufferings. Today is the celebration of the Feast of Christ the King. In today’s Gospel, Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the King of the Jews?……..Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?” Jesus replied, “My kingdom does not belong to this world”. Jesus came for the people of the whole world and not only for the Jews. In the last sentence, Jesus said, “……….I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” We can only find freedom if we acknowledge the truth. Society today is lack of truth, people are trying to rationalize their choices in life but the truth can only be found in Jesus’ Words. Reading the bible every day is essential. Just like the Praetorians, every day they attend the mass and enter into Jesus’ Words. Therefore, we should develop more Praetorians, they attend the daily mass, receive the Holy Eucharist every day, which is an important part of the Legion of Mary, otherwise we will lose one of the existential reasons of the Church. We need to recruit more Praetorians as their enthusiasm can fight against the dark side of society. According to our system, we have an obligation to participate in the development of the Church, hence, we should discuss the Questionnaire in consultation of the people of God in preparation for the Synod. We have to express the Legionary spirit in the discussion which is beneficial to the further development of the Legion of Mary and will enhance our evangelical spirit.
