When Everything is an “Unknown future”
Recently, the Covid-19 pandemic situation has been unstable and has greatly changed the livelihood of the whole community; the external activities of the Church has also stopped! But, what distressed me most was the casualty rate of more than half a hundred, most of whom were people suffering from chronic disease and aged patients. For them, “life is precious” is certainly applicable! Pope Francis and leaders of some lay congregations encouraged us to love and take care of the senior citizens, because without them, there will be no future! Although young people can work hard for building the society, and making it into a better community; however, the “wisdom” and “life experience” of seniors cannot be ignored! God created the world not only for an “externally” good living environment, but for a “substantial“ realm with truth, goodness and beauty, so that people of all ages will work hard in pursuit this “substantial” reality!
Although all activities have come to a halt; our inner lives should still be “actively engaged”! For us Legionaries, although there is no weekly meeting, no assignment, and no gathering or sharing, we continue to “pray”. Through praying the Rosary and the Catena, we enjoy our solidarity and communion through space. We pray for the pandemic and for brothers and sisters who have passed away due to the virus. We urge our Mother in heaven to pray for us: in this “unknown future” when we have no idea when the pandemic will end, please give us peace in heart and hope in the future! Now, please pray for all seniors, we ask God for the grace they need, let their lives glorify the Lord, our God!
