We need to have a deep introspection of our relationship with God. If we have the
same trespass each time we have our confession, we are only facing the sin and not
approaching God. Mary participated in God’s salvation, commencing with the
Annunciation, she always followed God’s way. In fact, we have only two options: one
is facing darkness and the other is following brightness. If we go for darkness, we are
only looking at ourselves and not aware of other people’s problems, we cannot see
love or other’s needs. If we follow the light, we pursue God and will be able to feel
His love mutually. We need to be mindful of love and discern whether it leads us to
God. As said in today’s Gospel, our hearts should have a strong desire to be with
Christ. All church organizations yearn to be with God through their own
characteristics. The emphasis is: for Legionaries, we approach Jesus through the
intercession of Our Lady. Just as the bible says, “unless a grain of wheat falls to the
ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much
fruit”. Let us reflect: did we bear fruits in our Legionary lives? Why? Why were we
not able to attract others spiritually? Our wish is to save other’s spirit through
personal contact, and through prayers, we shall convince people to follow Christ.
Within the Mystical Body of Christ, and being a spiritual organization ourselves, we
need to reflect on our relationship with Mary and not be distracted by external
interruptions. To glorify God is the first task in the spirit of the Legion of Mary. Only
by walking with Mary can we bring others before God which is the summit of the
cause of spirituality.
